USA PLAYER RATINGS

Tim Howard – 7.5
Howard had a couple of decent saves throughout the match, but nothing too spectacular. He did let in two goals, one of which was a PK… so not too much of his fault on that one.

Jonathan Spector – 6
Spector had zero presence in the attacking third this afternoon. None whatsoever.

Jay DeMerit – 7.5
DeMerit played aggressively and had some tough tackles throughout the match. He played hard, no doubt about it.

Carlos Bocanegra – 7.5
Bocanegra had the U.S.’s lone goal in today’s match and stood out the more he pushed up. His header goal was legit. Look to see him continue to make his presence known.

Jonathan Bornstein – 5
Brutal outing. Just brutal. Bornstein was the cause of the 1st PK, nearly gave up a second only moments later, and then deflected in the 2nd goal of the match for the Dutch. Why was he not subbed earlier?

Stuart Holden – 7.5
Holden, before his injury, played well. Homeboy has a lot of skills and has potential to make a big splash this summer in South Africa. Let’s hope the injury isn’t anything too serious.

Jose Francisco Torres – 6.5
His play was hit and miss. Torres had a phenomenal shot that just missed in the first half and had some outstanding through balls. However, he gave the ball away to the Dutch way too often.

Michael Bradley – 6
Bradley was outplayed by the Dutch today. Other than a few good sliding challenges, Bradley did little that stood out.

Landon Donovan – 7
Where was Landon anyways? While he didn’t commit any major errors, he didn’t create plays like he is definitely capable of doing.  He is the best player on the USA squad, no question.

Jozy Altidore – 7.5
This striker has a lot of potential but seems at times a little timid to put forth everything he’s got.  If he had put forth that something extra the whole game like he did the last few minutes, the final score may have been different.  One thing to take into consideration though is that he didn’t really have a lot of great balls played to him this afternoon.

Robbie Findley – 7
Findley definitely has the speed to beat his defender, but is he the answer that Bob Bradley is looking for?

SUBSTITUTES

DaMarcus Beasley – 7
He had a solid performance off the bench and helped the control of the game.  He was able to settle things down at least somewhat while he was on the pitch.

Maurice Edu – 6
Saw only a little bit of Edu, but he has the capability to do good things.  Homeboy has got skills.

Alejandro Bedoya – 6
It was good to see some fresh legs and new determination and a little spark at the end of the game.

Heath Pearce – N/A

Eddie Johnson – N/A

Clarence Goodson – N/A
