ANOTHER 4 YEARS FOR MARADONA?

Love him or hate him, Maradona is likely to be offered a four-year extension with the Argentinean national team. After initially struggling to qualify for the World Cup in South Africa, they swept through the group stage with such ease and attacking prowess, that many thought the South Americans were ready to rule the world.

Getting past Mexico, while not easy, was comfortable enough. So when they exited against a fantastic German team in such a one-sided affair, not only were we here at Soccer Jones shocked, but so was most of the world.

Maradona was distraught and many thought he would hand in his resignation. . . . But the Argentinean FA may be thinking otherwise.

In four years time, Brazil will host the World Cup. What better than the national hero to lead his charges against their bitter Brazilian rivals?

What he lacks in coaching skills is made up in motivation and sheer pride. We hope that he gets another chance, if for not just awaiting his interviews and antics on the sideline.
