VELOSO MOVES FROM SPORTING TO GENOA

Portuguese international Miguel Veloso has almost completed a move to Serie A and Genoa. The battling midfielder has been held in high regard throughout Europe for the last 3-4 seasons, but has surprisingly left Sporting Lisbon in favor of Italy.
The 24-year-old had been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United, teams that have constantly been fighting it out in domestic and European competitions.
Genoa, however has big ambitions. Over the last couple of seasons they have had big players come and leave their well established club. We expect them to keep pushing on and challenge for honors.
Veloso said, “I already know that Genoa are strong. I have seen them on television and I know that the team has big ambitions.”
Although details of the deal haven’t been released,  Sporting has confirmed that they have agreed to a deal and that the Portuguese club is likely to receive Spaniard Alberto Zapater in part-exchange.
