RIISE FANCIES A CRACK AT MLS

AS Roma full back, John Arne Riise, has admitted that he would like to end his career in the United States. The 29-year-old Norwegian international though, is hoping to sort out a contract extension before he pursues anything in the United States.
The former Liverpool man’s contract runs until the summer of 2012 and believe’s the new deal will be his last in Europe.
He told Vg Nett, “My contract with Roma? We will talk about it again at some point in September, I think the monetary issue and the length of the deal will be a formality.
“In my future I see myself playing for Roma for a few more years and then heading to the United States.
“I really want to play in the USA, it is a dream I have had for a long time.
“I have not thought about a club yet, but where David Beckham is playing (Los Angeles Galaxy) seems like a nice place to live.”
This would be a massive coup for the league. An attacking full back that is at home in midfield too, likes to strike the ball at distance, and had endeared himself to the fans he’s played for. While not a ticket driven arrival, would certainly add quality to his team and to Major League Soccer.
