WEEK 2 MLS MATCH PREDICTIONS BY SJ

Currently, we are 7-1 when it comes to MLS predictions here at Soccer Jones.  Looking into Week 2, here’s what we’re saying…

THURSDAY, APRIL 1ST MATCHES

Real Salt Lake @ Houston DynamoSJ PREDICTION… 1-1 tie.  This match should be a slug fest.  Two pretty evenly matched squads will battle it out on the first leg of the ESPN2 double-header tonight.  Look for attacking midfielder, Javier Morales, to continue putting pressure on defenses throughout the league.  Last week, the Argentine netted two goals and assisted another. We expect a good match and a tie as an end result.

Chivas USA @ LA GalaxySJ PREDICTION… Landon Donovan will prove too much to handle as the Galaxy will be looking to go 2-0 this season.  Even without Beckham playing alongside him, ole Landon has enough skill to lead the Galaxy past home turf rival Chivas USA.

SATURDAY, APRIL 3RD MATCHES

Chicago Fire @ Colorado RapidsPREDICTION… Colorado to beat Chicago in Denver.  Last week, the Fire suffered a loss on the road to the New York Red Bulls.  While the Fire had a number of chances to score, they were unable to finish and ended up losing 1-0.  Look for the fire to come out blazing, however, look for the Rapids to be a solid team this season behind scoring tandem Conor Casey and Omar Cummings.

New England @ DC UnitedSJ PREDICTION… Well, so far, things have not been great for either squad.  We here at Soccer Jones are predicting a 1-1 tie game on Saturday as the Revs march into the nation’s capital.  The Revolution, who are anchored by star midfield Shalrie Joseph, may just be taking some time to find their flow but will eventually snap out of losing habits.

NY Red Bulls @ Seattle SoundersSJ PREDICTION… Even though the Red Bulls came out with a big win at home to crack off the 2010 season, look for them to suffer a loss at Seattle.  The Sounders have one of the greatest fan bases in all of Major League Soccer and Qwest Field is one of the hardest stadiums to play in.
