RSL BATTLING INJURIES
During last Saturday’s Real Salt Lake home opener at Rio Tinto Stadium, midfielders Javier Morales and Ned Grabavoy both sustained injuries that would sideline them for more than half the match.
Initially, both injuries were expected to be serious landing them spots on the bench for weeks. However, after tests results came back, it appears that only Grabavoy will be out as long as expected, and play-making midfielder Morales is listed as questionable for Saturday’s match in Los Angeles.
Grabavoy, however, won’t be seeing any playing time from four to six weeks after sustaining a sprained knee ligament.
Real Salt Lake was off to an impressive start after a 3-0 win in San Jose and an impressive match in Houston. On Saturday, their head-to-head battle with the Sounders ended in a 2-2 draw. RSL truly has the hardest opening schedule of any team in Major League Soccer. This Saturday isn’t about to get any better either as they head to take on Landon Donovan and the perfect LA Galaxy.
