DONOVAN HEADING BACK TO EVERTON AN UNLIKELY SITUATION

Last January, Landon Donovan made his way to the Premier League and spent some time with Everton on loan.  Donovan made an impact immediately after arriving and was named the club’s Player of the Month just weeks after he arrived.

However, Everton manager David Moyes has now stated that he doesn’t see Donovan coming back to his club this season.  No, it’s not because Donovan isn’t what they’re looking for…  Everton is shy of cash flow and Donovan is just too pricey of a commodity.

Following Everton’s 3-1 win over Norwich at Carrow Road, Moyes said: “The price which the MLS would want would be big and that might be a problem.”

Now, many USA soccer fans would love to see LD make his way back to Europe rather than play in MLS.  The Premier League is definitely a more competitive and a higher level of soccer.  But why fix it if it ain’t broken?

Donovan has spent the vast majority of his professional career playing in Major League Soccer, and he is clearly America’s best player of all-time.  Maybe Major League Soccer has more to offer than people would like to believe.  This young league which started in 1996, and has seen nothing but growth in popularity and an elevating level of play ever since.
