BENZEMA SET TO REDISCOVER HIS OLD WAYS

Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema is anxious to prove himself to coach Jose Mourinho who is giving keeping him at the club after scoring just nine times in 32 games at the Bernabeu.

Most were expecting to see Benzema in a Manchester United jersey this season, however, plans quickly changed after Mourinho stepped in as coach.

Benzema has again and again told the media just how confident he is that he can get back to his 49 goals in two seasons form he had when suiting up for Lyon.

“I have forgotten about everything that happened last year,” Benzema told Real Madrid’s official website. “I am convinced that I am going to score a lot of goals.

“I am headstrong and I will work hard to help my team with titles. Mourinho is great coach. He speaks to me on a regular basis, which is something I appreciate.

“Last season was very difficult for me because it was the first time I played outside my own country. My family and I are now much more adjusted to the city. I am happy to be here.”

“Real Madrid is a great team. Right now the only true forwards are Gonzalo Higuain and myself. Any other forward who joins us will be well received.”
