BARCA LOOKING TO OBTAIN DAVID VILLA
Just when you thought FC Barcelona couldn’t get a whole lot more stacked, reports show that they’re now looking to obtain David Villa after this summer from Valencia.
It’s been said that Barca is looking to land a left-sided attacking mid with the ability to fill in for Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Sport reported that Barca has also shown interest in Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery, Valencia’s Juan Mata, and Benfica’s Angel Di Maria to replace current French star Thierry Henry.
Henry will be turning 33 later this year, while Ribery (26 years-old), Mata (21 years-old), and Di Maria (22 years-old) are all younger players with a little more gas left in the tank. There is no disputing Henry’s play-making ability on the pitch. However, it may be worth it to Barca to start investing in a left-sided attacker when looking down the road a little further.
