SANTOS UNHAPPY WITH CHELSEA’S INTEREST IN NEYMAR

Due to Chelsea’s continuing pursuit to put 18 year-old striker Neymar at Stamford Bridge, Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribiero is now considering reporting Chelsea to FIFA.

It has been reported that Chelsea representatives met with both Neymar’s agent and his family in New York prior to Brazil’s international friendly with the U.S.

After the Chelsea continuing to lobby for Neymar, Ribiero is now debating on whether or not he will take his issues to FIFA.

“The club have made a formal offer that was rejected outright,” Ribeiro stated in a news conference. “But the harassment has continued.

“In light of the ethical positions that should govern the relationship between clubs, that is totally intolerable and Santos will defend its interests before Fifa.”

However, Neymar does indeed have a €35million buy-out clause in his current contract, while rumor has it that the Blues have only offered €20million (£16.5m).

Ribiero added: “Yesterday, there was a telephone call. They got in touch with my secretary and asked for our fax number.

“That does not mean the opening for trading. Santos has no interest in negotiating over Neymar for any money.

“The contract between the player and the club has a compensation clause. If the clause is satisfied, we can not do anything.”

Let’s be honest though… Can you really blame the EPL squad for going after what looks to be the future of Brazilian soccer?
