ROONEY’S STATUS UNCERTAIN FOR CHELSEA MATCH

During Manchester United’s 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich during the first leg of their Champions League quarter final match in Allianz Arena, Man U striker Wayne Rooney twisted his right ankle and was forced to leave the match.

During the 64th second, Rooney netted his 34th goal of the season.  Rooney would unfortunately leave the stadium on crutches and wearing a boot.  Coach Sir Alex Ferguson has stated that he is “unsure” of Rooney’s status and does not know if he will be ready to square off against Chelsea on Saturday.

“He’s obviously hurt his ankle,” Ferguson said. “We’ll know better tomorrow. It’s too early to say. I don’t think it’s terribly serious, but we’ll wait and see.”

This could prove very costly if Rooney is unable to go this weekend.  If you’re a Rooney or Man U fan, keep your fingers crossed, rub your lucky rabbit’s foot, say your prayers, and hope Rooney will be suited up and ready to face the boys in blue.
