Liverpool will have to wait for at least another week before they know the full extent of Fernando Torres’ knee injury.
Torres missed the Liverpool – Fulham draw at Anfield this past Sunday and has now made his way back to Spain for further examination.
A club statement on Monday read: “Fernando Torres was examined by a knee specialist this afternoon in Spain. He received treatment and will continue to do so over the next few days, with the injury being reassessed later this week.”
The opening leg of Liverpool’s Europa League semi-final showdown with Atletico Madrid is on April 22nd.
