LIVERPOOL RETURN FOR AURELIO?

New Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has moved to bring Fabio Aurelio back to the club. Aurelio has only had 71 appearances in 4 years at Liverpool, including just 8 starts last season. His contract ran out after failing to agree to a pay-as-you-play deal.
The left back will provide much needed cover for the Reds. After selling Andrea Dossena to Napoli in January, Aurelio and Insua fought it out for the starting left back spot.
Insua won, largely down to the fact Brazilian Aurelio was unable to stay injury free. However Insua has now left the club, moving on to Fiorentina in Italy.
Lots of left backs have been linked with Liverpool over the last few weeks, but locking in Aurelio will give Liverpool much needed breathing space as they look to add depth. A popular player on the Kop, if he can stay healthy there is not doubting his quality, whether defending or helping out in attack, the left footer is also deadly from set piece situations.
