GERRARD’S V-SIGN GETS A PASS

Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, is set to escape disciplinary action after flashing a “V-sign” at a referee during their loss to Wigan.

I think the situation is pretty unclear still… whether Gerrard is flashing the offensive “V-sign” at the referee, or if he is simply telling him that the foul committed was made after two hard fouls committed by Wigan?  However, television pictures did in fact show Gerrard mouthing an obscenity accompanied by his hand gesture.

Liverpool boss man, Rafa Benitez claims that he did not see the incident as he was on the far side of the field.  Either way, Gerrard will get a pass for whatever it was that he was trying to communicate to the ref during the Liverpool vs Wigan match-up.
