ROONEY NOW READY FOR AC MILAN
Wayne Rooney, who is now declared as match-fit, and Manchester United look to take on AC Milan Wednesday night in a Champions League sweet 16 match.
Rooney missed Man U’s win over Wolves last weekend due to an inflamed kneecap tendon he sustained after making back-to-back appearances at Wembley in the Carling Cup final and international friendly match against Egypt.
“He is fit,” Ferguson said when discussing Rooney’s status. “There is a rapid improvement from Saturday morning because on Friday evening I didn’t think he had any chance. It’s good news. He is a threat to anyone at the moment.”
Look for Rooney to come out with guns blazin’. He’s had his rest and is declared as ready to take on Serie A’s Milan. Whether or not he has any bit of soreness in his knee still at this point, it would be a mistake not to regard Rooney as one of the most feared strikers in the game. He will make an impact on Wednesday, no question about it.
