BRIAN LAUDRUP BATTLING CANCER
Former Danish international Brian Laudrup has revealed that he is fighting a mild form of lymphoma. The winger played for Bayern Munich and Glasgow Rangers most famously, while also having spells at Fiorentina, Chelsea, AC Milan, and Ajax.
He was also on Pele’s list of 125 greatest living footballers, along side older brother Michael back in 2004.
41-year-old Laudrup said of his situation to Danish channel TV3, where he works as a commentator, ”I am obviously shocked by the diagnosis, but also know that there is now a tough battle ahead of me – a battle I will win.
“Fortunately, I have had very optimistic reports from doctors to support me.”
We wish him well, and a speedy recovery. One of the finest wingers we’ve ever witnessed, and along with his brother helped put Danish football on the map.
