Nemanja Vidic (21 Oct 1981) plays center back for the Premier League’s Manchester United and the Serbian national team.
The 28 year-old defender just signed a contract extension with Man United keeping him at Old Trafford for another four years. Locking in Vidic until 2014 was clearly a wise move for the Red Devils.
“I am very happy to sign this contract,” Vidic said. “I came to this club when I was young and have developed enormously with the help of the manager, coaching staff and my team-mates. During my time here we have had a lot of success and I look forward to continuing that success in the coming seasons.”
Not only is Vidic delighted to stick around until he turns 32 years-old… Sir Alex Ferguson is also pleased.
“We are delighted Nemanja has committed his future to the club,” Ferguson said. “This kills all the silly speculation over the past few months. Nemanja has developed into one of the best centre-halves in Europe and we are pleased he will be here for many years to come.”

As a Man U fan and central defender this is fantastic news! Vidic is a strong presence in the back, especially along side Rio. He's never been known for having soft feet, but that fits with our back four system.
