The African football awards are being held in Ghana tomorrow, with Samuel Eto’o of Barcelona and Cameroon, Didier Drogba of Chelsea and the Ivory Coast and team mate Michael Essien of Ghana are the three up for the awards.

I’d be surprised if Eto’o doesn’t get it because his form over the whole of 2006 has been fantastic, Drogba is on fire this season but obviously that was only starting in August, but you cannot rule him out, Essien won’t win it but again he’s been really great for Chelsea and has filled in various positions over the season.

2007 will be different though if Drogba carries on this amazing scoring form.
